Carolin Schumacher is the Chief Executive Officer of GALVmed. She holds a Diploma in Veterinary Medicine and a Doctorate in Veterinary Virology. She has worked with GALVmed since November 2018, where she currently holds a key role with operational responsibilities.
Carolin's journey began as an animal veterinary surgeon in Germany (1992). She then served as an R&D project manager at Virbac, France (1992-97) and as Product Manager for oral rabies vaccines at Merial (2001-2003). Her leadership roles include Head of Veterinary Public Health Franchise at Merial (2003-12), Head of Public Affairs and CSR at Merial (2012-2017), and Head of Public Affairs at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health (2017-18).
Her academic background is complemented by post-graduate training in negotiation, finance, leadership, team development, communication, and crisis management.
Beyond work, Carolin enjoys traveling, outdoor sports, and photography.
