Dr. Ashish Saxena

Division Chief, Input Systems, USAID Bureau for Resilience and Food Security

Ashish leads the Center for Agriculture-Led Growth’s crop improvement and seed systems work, and oversees the Center’s research collaboration with many university, CGIAR and private sector partners and co-funders. Ashish began his career with a small NGO in India, and later came to the US where he pursued advanced degrees in Plant Breeding and Genetics, and subsequently joined and later led private sector breeding programs at Dow and Syngenta. He has strong interests in data visualization and in understanding GxExM to harness the true genetic potential of plants. He has also led integration of technologies in crop improvement, for example high throughput phenotyping and genome editing.
