Dr. Grace Kaudzu

Director of Research and Deputy Director of Agricultural Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Malawi

Dr. Grace Kaudzu currently serves as the Deputy Director of Agricultural Planning at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Water Development in Lilongwe, Malawi. She has served previously as Seed Scientist and Team Leader for Seed Certification and Quality Control in the same ministry. Her expertise in seed science and commitment to ensuring quality have been instrumental in shaping agricultural practices. Grace's journey began at Iowa State University, where she earned a Ph.D. in Crop Production and Physiology with a focus on Seed Science and a minor in Plant Breeding. During her time in the USA, she also served as a Research and Teaching Assistant and as a Norman E. Borlaug Research Fellow. Grace holds an MSC in Horticulture from the University of Malawi, Bunda College of Agriculture. Her academic journey is complemented by active participation in esteemed agricultural societies, including the American Society of Agronomy and the International Seed Testing Association. Grace is a visionary leader driving innovation and sustainable development in Malawi's agricultural landscape.
