Susan Kahumbu

Founder, iCow

Susan Kahumbu, is a passionate Social Agtech-innovator, regenerative farmer, Soil geek and Ankole breeder. She is recognized as a pioneer in the organic sector in Africa and is the CEO of Green Dreams TECH Ltd the producer of the award-winning agricultural platform iCow.

iCow is an agricultural platform designed to climate proof smallholder farmers in Africa by providing farmers with access to comprehensive and verifiable best climate adaptation and mitigation practices and experts in livestock, crop and soil fertility management. To date iCow has reached approximately 2 million farmers across Kenya, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

As Kenyas first Certified Soil Food Web Lab Technician Su is championing soil health through soil microbiology and is currently building the resource and people capacity to deliver Africas first Smallholder Soil Microbiology Service. Su is a TED Global Fellow and a member of the Board of Governors of the Mpesa Foundation Academy.

She has won several awards as follows:
