Dr. Sylvester Dickson Baguma
Dr. Sylvester Dickson Baguma is the Interim Executive Director of ASARECA.
He is a member of the NARO Governing Council, a board member of FARA and several other boards. He has a PhD in Knowledge management (Loughborough University), MSc. IT-MIS (Cranfield University), MSc. Agric (MAK) and a postgraduate diploma in Modern Management and Administration. He has over 15 years of practical experience in M&E. He is a seasoned professional with a passion for agricultural research and development and an impeccable track record as a transformational leader.
With over 25 years of experience in the agricultural research for development, he has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing smallholder farmers in Eastern and Central Africa. Of these years, he has over 10 years in management and leadership positions as a Principal Knowledge Management Officer at NARO Secretariat, Director of Bulindi ZARDI in NARO, and as Interim Executive Director of ASARECA for 7 months now. His expertise spans strategic and tactical planning, program management, team building, and stakeholder engagement, with a proven ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems. Dr. Baguma has widely published and has conducted several assignments in Africa and Europe.
