Mr. Linus Kaikai
Linus Kaikai is a distinguished Kenyan journalist and media executive with a career spanning over 25 years. He currently serves as the Director of Strategy and Innovation at Citizen TV, a leading television station under Royal Media Services. Kaikai is also a former Chairman of the Kenya Editors Guild, reflecting his significant influence in the country’s media landscape.
Kaikai began his journalism career at the Kenya Television Network (KTN) in the 1990s. In 1999, he joined the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) as a correspondent and rose to the position of Bureau Chief over an eight-year tenure. He returned to Kenya in 2007, rejoining KTN as Managing Editor in charge of Quality and Product Development. In 2009, he moved to NTV, where he served as Managing Editor and later as General Manager of Nation Media Group’s broadcast division. In 2018, Kaikai transitioned to Citizen TV, where he continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the station’s editorial direction.
Throughout his career, Kaikai has been recognized for his journalistic excellence. He won the CNN African Television Journalist 1st Prize in 1997 and was named Environmental Journalist of the Year in 1998. He holds a Master’s degree in International Journalism from the University of Westminster in the UK and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi.
