Olabisi John Agboola
John is a global hunger fighter, agricultural economist, youth advocate and agri-tech specialist passionate about farmer-focused solutions, agricultural innovations, philanthropic impact, youth engagement and science communication for sustainable agri-food systems. He is the Manager of the AGCO Foundation, a global philanthropic Foundation that works to prevent and relieve hunger through sustainable agricultural development for farmers, young people, and communities. His work at the Foundation aligns with AGCO’s purpose to provide farmer-focused solutions to sustainably feed our world. He is a Borlaug-Adesina Fellow and has led many youth-focused agricultural programs, such as the Youth-in-Data initiative for the CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture, the Young Professional for Agricultural Development (YPARD)—Nigeria chapter, the Youth-in-Soil initiative and the COVID-19 Food Future initiative for TMG Research, Germany. John has lived, worked and studied in Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom. He is also the Founder of Agrarian Opportunities, a leading online platform that shares and connects Africans, especially young people, to global agricultural opportunities.
