Prof. Jean Jacques Muhinda
Prof. Jean Jacques M. Muhinda holds a PhD Degree in Agriculture Sciences and Biological Engineering with 23-years’ experience in agriculture development, research, technology transfer and academia. During the last decade, he respectively held the following roles: i) AGRA’s Regional Director for East & Southern Africa (current); ii) Executive Director of the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA); iii) Director General of the Rwanda Agricultural Development Board (RAB), and iv) International Expert for the FAO’s program on land-husbandry and soil fertility improvement in the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe. Prof Muhinda has wide experience working with national governments, regional and continental bodies, development and research organizations and the private sector. He served on the Board of Directors of multiple organizations, such as the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), the National Agricultura Export Development Board (NAEB) and the Rwanda Natural Resources Authority (RNRA). Prof. Muhinda speaks fluently English, French and Swahili, Kinyarwanda being his mother tongue.
