Verena Ruzibuka
Verena Ruzibuka is the Country Director for Heifer International Rwanda, an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience in designing and managing strategic agriculture and food security programs across East Africa. She holds a Master of Agricultural Sciences from Yamagata University in Japan and a bachelor’s degree in food science and technology from the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology in Rwanda.
Verena has led large-scale, donor-funded programs with a strong technical focus on market systems development, agribusiness, agricultural finance, nutrition, and private sector engagement. She has successfully partnered with bilateral and multilateral institutions and is known for her ability to build strong partnerships with governments, development partners, and local communities to implement impactful programs and drive innovation to transform food systems.
In her current role, Verena provides strategic oversight to Heifer Rwanda’s portfolio and represents the organization in high-level engagements and partnerships with different institutions. She is a champion of inclusive food systems and a passionate advocate for sustainable agriculture transformation in Africa.
