Stella Simiyu
Stella Simiyu Wafukho is an expert in policy and regulatory affairs, bringing over two decades of experience in driving transformative change in agricultural innovation across Africa and the Middle East.
As a champion of enabling environments for Ag Tech investment, she has played a key role in transforming science-based regulatory frameworks that promote the adoption of Ag technologies, including biopesticides, biofertilizers, biotechnology, seeds, and digital tools such as drones. She has supported the enhancement of regulatory systems in science-based approaches to risk assessment and Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), ensuring alignment with global standards while addressing local challenges.
She is currently the Director of Regulatory Affairs at CropLife AME, the regional association representing leading global manufacturers of crop protection products, seeds, and biotechnology innovations across Africa and the Middle East. Stella holds dual master’s degrees in public policy analysis and biosafety in plant biotechnology, along with various postgraduate research projects. Her current research focuses on the development and commercialisation of biological crop protection products, aiming to bridge the gap between regulatory frameworks and practical adoption challenges in the region.
